Topic: Matt Surico on Open Source Desktop Publishing
LILUG Secretary Matt Surico will delve into the wonderful world of creating graphics using the GIMP and Inkscape, and doing layout and incorporating graphics into documents for print using Scribus.
Matt will have some finished products on hand that were created in Scribus and will show how the layout was done as well as how many of the graphics were created. Along the way, he'll show off many of the important features of the GIMP and Inkscape, how they are similar and how they are different, and hopefully show some tips and tricks that will help both novice and expert alike in using these tools to create great graphics for print and the web.
